Alejandro Ameijeiras is a former professional dancer from Havana, Cuba, whose illustrious career spans classical ballet, modern dance, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and even water ballet. Alejandro began his journey under the tutelage of Fernando Alonso, founder of the Cuban Ballet School, and further refined his craft at the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow, Russia.
Throughout his career, Alejandro performed with renowned companies such as the National Ballet of Cuba, Teatro América, Tropicana, and Ballet Acuático Habana, showcasing his versatility and passion across diverse dance styles.
In the early 2000s, Alejandro transitioned to teaching, becoming a ballroom dance instructor at the Academy of Ballroom and Social Dance in Philadelphia before joining Arthur Murray Studios in Beverly Hills.
In 2005, Alejandro discovered a new passion for Pilates, training with industry legends Trish Garland, Michael Levi, and Cynthia Lochard in Los Angeles, and completing his certification in New York under Romana Kryzanowska, Sari Mejias, and Daria Pace. His daily Pilates practice not only sustains his love for movement but also helped him rehabilitate a shoulder and low back injury.
Now based in Santa Barbara, Alejandro enjoys the coastal lifestyle with his two French bulldogs and continues to share his expertise and enthusiasm for movement and well-being with others.
